THERE is no humane way to kill whales, a fact which is ignored by countries clamouring to lift the moratorium on commercial whaling, according to Nan Rice of the Dolphin Action and Protection Group.
Rice was reacting to reports that the moratorium, imposed by the International Whaling Commission (IWC) in 1982, may be lifted by an international deal being negotiated behind closed doors. This year's meeting of the IWC will be in held in June.
