NSW: State govt keeps reports, public inquiry results secret
The NSW government has reportedly kept secret dozens of publicly funded reports and the
findings of two major inquiries.
The Sydney Morning Herald says more than $410,000 of taxpayers money is being spent by the
CARR government on a court battle to keep those and other documents secret.
In one instance, the government shelved 1997 public inquiry findings recommending an
expansion of peat mining in the Wingecarribee swamp near Bowral.
